In the current economic climate, consumers are keen to save money when it comes time to purchase a new vehicle. In addition, they demand a car that also provides great gas mileage. Ford Focus stands out in the affordable small cars segment due to its low price and great mileage. For 2012, Ford Motor Company decided to make a good thing even better and decided to revamp the car inside and out. As a result, the 2012 Focus is edgier, sportier and better looking. Over 55% of the vehicle's body is constructed out of steel; that's more than any other Ford on the market. There are four trim levels available; S, SE, SEL and Titanium.
The Ford Focus' engine won't win any drag races by any means but it's more than enough for riding to work and running errands. The engine is a four cylinder 2.4 Liter with 155 hp and 145 lb feet of torque. Ford has plans for a newer Focus with an efficient Ecoboost engine. Two transmissions are available; a manual transmission and a dual clutch gearbox. Gas mileage stands at around 40 mpg, which is pretty good. The Focus is the ideal every day car for anyone who wants a practical and efficient car without spending a fortune.
One new aspect that can only be enjoyed in the 2012 model is the innovative torque vectoring control. This system improves performance around corners and curves by splitting power between the wheels and applying brake pressure. If you want to be creative you can even add cool graphic tattoos to your vehicle. This is fun and easy way to personalize your car and give it an extra special little something. The cabin inside is top notch and designed using high quality materials. Features for your convenience include a rearview camera, keyless entry and a system to help facilitate parking in narrow spots. Ford's MyFord system is also available which allows you to easily switch up songs and adjust music volume from the convenience of the steering wheel.
The base model comes with features such as a standard audio system, power windows and an adjustable steering wheel. If you choose the upper level SE trim you get Ford's Mykey system which allows parents to set the speed limit at which their teens are able to drive. Standard safety features for all models consist of a comprehensive airbag system with chest protection, side airbags and advanced side restraint systems. The Titanium model adds in a sunroof, a premium Sony sound system and Ford MyTouch which allows the drover to use the phone and command the audio system via voice commands.
With the recession in full swing, it makes sense to save money by purchasing an economy car and save your money for a rainy day. In addition, the Focus offers excellent mileage, a feature that can end up helping you save a lot of money at the gas pump. Pricing for the sedan starts at $15,999 and $19,899 for the hatchback.

Camaro, Do You Have One?

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Camaro & Chevrolet Camaro Wheels is that it was one of the most well-known muscle cars of its time. They've even reinvented the Camaro & OEM Chevrolet Camaro Rims for the 2010 model. So now, we have a great 2010 Chevy Camaro with amazing looking 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Rims to go on it. How much better can it get!
The Camaro is produced by the General Motors company but under the Chevrolet Brand. Confusing, right? There are some models that are classified as a Pony Car and some that are known as a Muscle Car - I think the most known cars with the Original Chevrolet Wheels are the muscle cars. Anyway, it first went on sale on September 29, 1966 as the 1967 model. It was originally designed to serve as the competing model to the Ford Mustang.
There were a record of four different generations of the Camaro that were manufactured before 2002. Before any real approved message from Chevy, there were reports circling around April of 1965 that Chevrolet was planning to release a car that would be equal to the competitor of the original Ford Mustang. About a year later on June 21,1966, there were an approximate 200 car journalists that had received a telegram from GM that stated exactly this: "... Please save noon of June 28 for important SEPAW meeting. Hope you can be on hand to help scratch a cat. Details will follow...(signed) John L. Cutter - Chevrolet Public Relations - SEPAW Secretary."
The very next day, the same people who received the previous telegram received another informative telegram that said, "Society for the Eradication of Panthers from the Automotive World will hold first and last meeting on June 28...(signed) John L. Cutter - Chevrolet Public Relations SEPAW Secretary." If I can see these telegrams I'd be super impressed.. do they have them in museums?
Anyway, these were the type of telegrams that confused most of the journalists.
A week after all these telegrams were sent, GM had a live press conference that was held at the Statler-Hilton Hotel in Detroit. The General Manager of Chevy at the time, Pete Estes, was the one that started the conference. He made the announcement that there was a new car line being made; project designation XP-836. He said the name of the vehicle "suggests the comradeship of good friends as a personal car should be to its owner". He also said that "to us [Chevrolet and GM], the name means just what we think the car will do... Go!" After all the prep that he did to keep the journalist appealed, he reviewed the name "Camaro."
Of course they had questions; one of the major ones was "What is a Camaro?" He responded by stating "[it's] a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs." That's when the duel began. Those are fighting words if you were to ask me; I bet if you were to ask anyone they'd say the exact same thing.
On September 12, 1966, that's when the Camaro was first shown; it was at a press preview that took place in Detroit, Michigan. It was then introduced to Los Angeles on the 19th of that same year. The Camaro had went on sale on all Chevrolet lots on September 29, 1966 as the 1967 model year.
So when it comes down to it, would you buy the Ford Mustang or the Chevy Camaro with the OEM Chevrolet Wheels on it? It's all up to you! So make sure you're sure about what you want.

The latest 2009 launched Dodge Avenger is offered in three variants, namely the sporty R/T, well equipped SXT and the base SE. The SE model is facilitated with cruise control, air conditioning, an auxiliary audio jack, satellite radio, four speaker audio system, a cooled front storage compartment, full power accessories, a tilt and telescoping steering wheels and 16-inch steel wheels.

In the SXT model, some extra features are added, which are steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, eight way power driver seats, six CD changer and six speakers for the audio system, fog lights, 17-inch steel wheels and a rear spoiler.

On the other hand, the Avenger R/T is facilitated with an auto dimming rear-view mirror, single zone automatic climate control, heated side mirrors, automatic head lights, firmer suspension tuning and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 2009 Dodge Avenger initially came with an engine power of up to 173 hp and a torque up to 166 lb-ft. Later on, this engine power was increased up to 186 hp and torque up to 191 lb-ft, but the engine power of Avenger SXT was boosted up to 235 hp and its torque to 232 lb-ft. The 3.5 liter v6 power R/T takes about 7.7 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 mph.

From safety point of view, full-length head curtain airbags and front seat air bags are added to the car. Standard anti-lock brakes are also available with the R/T and V6 models. The trunk capacity of Avenger is about 13.4 cubic feet.

The Dodge Cummins diesel is a favorite of many diesel enthusiasts because of how many modifications can be done to it. The Dodge Cummins diesel comes stock with great power and fuel economy and can be tweaked to get diesel fuel mileage in the upper twenties and some even report low thirties in mpg. That is phenomenal economy for a truck. They can also be turned into ground pounding monsters. Today we will take a look at a few of the modifications that can be done to make the vehicle either more economical or more powerful.

First the most popular modification for any diesel is a performance chip. These come in chips, modules and programmers. All have the same basic functions although they will all alter the fueling in slightly different ways and have a variety of safety features. Generally for a conservative driver, with almost any diesel chip about three to four mpg increases can be achieved. Most of these chips add about 120 horse power on their top setting. There are some extreme chips though that will add about 230 hp and over 400 torque to the dodge Cummins diesel.

Probably the second most popular modification for the Dodge Cummins Diesel is performance diesel fuel injectors. Upgraded injectors can also add economy for a conservative driver. The injectors come in stages that range from 50 hp to 150 hp over stock, and even more extreme injectors can be custom made. 50 hp injectors would be for someone looking for a little more power and better economy. 150 hp injectors would be considered extreme. They also come in complete injector replacements or just nozzle or injector tip upgrades.

For any diesel that is being modified, a higher flow exhaust should be added to help it keep exhaust gas temperatures down and to relieve engine stress. Most people upgrade the size of the entire exhaust from the turbo. Others use the Aero Exhaust which is a muffler replacement only. The design of the Aero Exhaust increases the speed of the exhaust like a jet would as the exhaust flows through it. On the 2005 Dodge Cummins diesel the Aero Exhaust adds 19 hp and 38 dyno tested torque by just replacing the muffler.

Another popular modification is the cold air intake which allows more air into the engine which helps to combust a higher percentage of the fuel. This gets more power to the wheels instead of out the tail pip in a big black cloud.
