Cosworth and Subaru have teamed up again to bring a tuned version of the Impreza STi to the Geneva Motor Show next month. The two companies do not plan a lengthy collaboration on multiple projects as the Cosworth/Subaru STi is described as a “one-off” project.
Subaru distributed a teaser image to promote the release, which shows a taillight cluster with different tints. In an accompanying press release, the companies say, “the result promises to be truly staggering.” The rumor mill is suggesting that the 2.5-liter 305 hp (227 kW) engine will be boosted to produce over 500 hp (373 kW). Aside from their focus on improving performance, engineers worked to offer tighter handling while adjusting the car’s body.
The two companies will release full specs about the Cosworth-modified Subaru Impreza STi closer to or at Geneva.
